WPL 2024 Final Match- In the 2023 WPL season, the final match was played between Delhi Capitals Women and Mumbai Indians Women. But this time Mumbai failed to reach the final. They lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore Women by five runs and eliminated from the Eliminator match.
In the second season of WPL 2024, the picture is same for Delhi Capitals. They will play the final in two consecutive seasons. But this time Delhi will face Bangalore on 17 march at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
In the ongoing WPL 2024, Delhi Capitals Women have won six (6) out of eight (8) matches. Delhi continued their winning streak after losing their 1st match of the season but the 2nd loss came against UP Warriorz Womwn by just 1 run in their 6th match.
This time Bangalore will play their first final match in Women’s Premier League against Delhi Capitals. In the previous season of WPL, they finished in the fourth position.

Royal Challengers Bangalore entered the final after defeating Mumbai Indians in Eliminator match on march 15.
In the Eliminator match of WPL 2024, Bangalore defeated Mumbai by five runs and will be seen playing the Final against Delhi.
Mumbai and Bangalore have faced each other three times in this 2024 WPL, out of that RCB won 2 times and Mumbai 1 time.
In this ongoing WPL season, Bangalore lost twice against Delhi. In the first face-to-face match with Delhi, Bangalore lost by 25 runs and in the 2nd time they lost by a narrow margin of 1 run.
This will be 3rd encounter for both teams’ in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) this season.
The final match promises to be a thrilling match as both teams enter the final after winning their previous matches.
In the Eliminator match against Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored a total of 135/6 in 20 overs. Bangalore were under pressure after losing two wickets for twenty runs. After Sophie Devine (10) and Smriti Mandhana (10) got out, Ellyse Perry came to the crease and took control of the match. She scored 66 runs off 50 balls with 8 fours and a six and was adjudged Player of the Match.
They set a target of 136 runs in front of Mumbai Indians. In response, Mumbai Indians failed to chase down the runs. As a result, Bangalore won the match by five runs and entered the WPL 2024 final match.
Ellyse Perry is the highest run scorer so far. She scored 312 runs in 8 matches and took 7 wickets.
Shreyanka Patil grabbed 2 wickets in the eliminator match. In their previous match, Ellyse perry, Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham and Asha Sobhana took 1 wicket each.
Asha Sobhana is most wicket taker for Royal Challengers Bangalore women. She played 9 matches and took 10 wickets.
Delhi Capitals Women won their previous match against Gujarat Giants Women by 7 wickets and entered the final from 1st place in the league table.
After winning the toss, Gujarat Giants amassed 126 runs for 9 wickets in 48.5 overs. Delhi’s Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey, Minnu Mani all of them took two wickets each. All rounder Jess Jonassen grabbed a wicket against Gujarat Giants.

Opening batsman of Delhi Capitals, Shafali Verma got player of the match award after played a crucial innings in their previous match against Gujarat. She scored 71 runs off 37 balls with seven fours and five sixes. Shafali has scored 265 runs in 8 matches so far this season.
In the 2024 Women’s Premier League season, Delhi’s skipper Meg Lanning is the second highest run-scorer after Ellyse Perry in overall list of most run scorer so far. In 8 matches, Lanning scored 308 runs.
In the last league match, Jemimah Rodrigues, a middle order batsman, complete the innings for Delhi. With 41 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand, Delhi Capitals chased down the target easily. Jemimah Rodrigues was unbeaten on 38 runs off 28 balls with 4 fours and a six. So far, she scored 235 runs in 8 matches in the ongoing WPL 2024 season.
