New Zealand opener Finn Allen boosted the run rates by playing fewer balls. First, Finn Allen got out after playing a devastating innings of 74 runs off 41balls. Mitchell Santner produced a devastating performance of 25 off 13 balls, following in the footsteps of Finn Allen. Williamson was injured and retired after scoring 26 off 15 balls. It’s unclear if Kane williamson’ll be ready for the T20 World cup and the Indian Premier League before then.
Haris Rauf grabbed 3 wickets with 38 runs. Abbas Afridi took 2 wickets at a cost of 43 runs . Aamer jamal and Usman mir received one wickets.
In reply Pakistan’s innings ended on 173 runs. Despite Babar Azam’s struggling innings, New Zealand won by 21 runs. Babar, batting third number, made 66 runs off of 43 balls and Fakhar Zaman returned to the Pavilion after scoring 50 runs off 25 balls.
Pakistan was in a position to win the match but kept losing one wicket after another in the slog overs. Iftikhar Ahmed went back for four runs. Shaheen Afridi, the skipper of Pakistan, ultimately hit 22 runs off of 13 balls.
Adam Milne bagged 4 wickets with 33 runs. Tim Southee took 2 wickets off 31 runs. Ben Sears grabbed 2 wickets at a cost of 28 runs and Ish Sodhi received 2 wickets with 33 runs.
New Zealand lead 2-0 in the five-match series. If Shaheen Afridi does not win the third match, the series will go to Williamson hand.
