Netherlands vs Namibia– With the start of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 (2023–27) on Thursday, February 15, the associate nations’ journey towards the 2027 ODI World Cup has officially began.
The league has started via a tri-series between Nepal, Namibia, and Netherlands. The host country of this tri series is Nepal.
There will be eight teams competing in the ICC CWC League 2 in addition to these three teams. The 2027 ODI World Cup will be hosted by South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe and the associate nations have a glorious chance .
In the first match of this ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup league 2, Netherlands lost to Nepal by nine wickets.
The Netherlands played the World Cup as an associate team in the 2023 World Cup. In 2023 World Cup Netherlands defeated Bangladesh and left their mark on the world court.
But the Dutch batsmen could not survive the bowling of Nepal. And the Dutch batsmen failed miserably with the bat. After the loss to Nepal, the Netherlands team is entering the cricket field with full strength. They will face Namibia on February 19 at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Nepal.
Namibia made its debut in the 2003 Cricket World Cup through the 2001 ICC Trophy held in Canada.
ICC associate member team Namibia gave an unforgettable result by defeating the World Cup winner Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the first match of the T20 World Cup. Namibia are already desperate to show their strength on the cricket field.
In 2022 World T20, Netherlands beat Namibia by five wickets. ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 has a decisive win under Namibia and currently tops the points table.
The Netherlands is now at the bottom of the points table after losing one match.
Netherlands have lost their first match of the Tri Series against Nepal by 9 wickets.
After batting first, Netherlands was dismissed for a meager 137 runs. With only 20 runs scored, Kushal Bhurtel claimed 4 wickets with outstanding bowling. With a knock of 33 runs, Scott Edwards did his best to turn around the Netherlands, but it was insufficient as other batsmen failed to take any accountability, and the team was bowled out for a rather modest score.
Namibia have won their previous match against Nepal by 4 wickets. Gerhard Erasmus completed the task, taking five wickets and assist in bowling Nepal all out for 132.
Jan Frylinck and Nicol Loftie Eaton played decent knocks of 34 and 31 runs respectively to take Namibia with 4 wickets won.

Captain Scott Edwards scored the most runs in the first match of the Netherlands team against Nepal. He scored 33 runs off 49 balls with 1 four.He played 46 ODI matches and scored 14 half centuries and scored 1416 runs.
Sybrand Engelbrecht got 23 runs last match. He scored two half-centuries and 256 runs in eight matches.
Bas de Leede’s name is well-known as an all-rounder in the Netherlands. He scored 27 against Nepal in the previous match. In that match, he bowled two overs with the ball in hand and could not take any wicket with 21 runs. Bas de Leede played 39 matches and scored 904 runs with the bat including one century and three half-centuries.He played 39 matches and took 40 wickets with the ball .
Vivian Kingman, the highest wicket-taker for the Netherlands, took only one wicket in the competition. He played 18 matches and grabbed 21 wickets with the ball.

The Namibia team’s Jan Frylinck scored the most runs in the team’s opening against Nepal. He got 34 runs off 53 balls with 4 fours . He played 28 ODI matches and scored 3 half centuries and scored 441 runs.
Jan Nicol Loftie Eaton played decent 31 runs off 30 balls respectivelyrespectively in previous match.He played 32 matches and scored 718 runs with the bat including six half-centuries and took 10 wickets with the ball .
JJ Smit has a reputation as an all-rounder who is played franchise leagues for various countries.In the last match against Nepal, he remained not out for 17 runs from 35 balls and played a significant role in Namibia’s win.
Although Gerhard Erasmus scored eight runs with the bat, he was at his best with the ball.
