BPL 2024, The second day of the Sylhet phase witnessed a high scoring game on Saturday afternoon. Chattogram Challengers opener Avishka Fernando scored 91 runs to set a target of 194 runs for Fortune Barisal. Curtis Campher’s partnership of 29 with the Sri Lankan batsmen helped Chattogram to set 193 for four in 20 overs.
Having lost the toss and going to bat in the opening game of the day at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday (January 27), Chattogram did not have a bright start. In the opening over, Taijul Islam dismissed Tanzid Hasan. But before returning, Tanzid Hasan scored 12 runs in five balls. In the second over, Taijul Islam dismissed Imran uzzaman for 4 runs off 8 balls.
Shahadat Hossain and Avishka Fernando, the team’s two batters, resisted. Together, they scored 70 runs. Yannic Cariah split the two of them. Shahadat Hossain was bowled out by Yannic Cariah, with 29 balls he scored 31 runs.

Tamim Iqbal was dismissed for 33 runs Curtis Campher. Mushfiqur Rahim, the highest run-getter in the BPL 2024, was dismissed by Bilal Khan for 23 runs. Mehidy Hasan Miraj scored 35 off 16 balls towards the end, hitting two sixes and three fours.
In the end, Fortune Barisal lost to Chattogram Challengers by 10 runs.
