Many predicted that the visitors would easily lose the day-night match in Brisbane after losing the first Test of the series in three days. In the first inning, the West Indies were all out for 311 runs. However, Kemar Roach and Alzari Joseph’s outstanding bowling allowed Australia to declare their first innings at 289 for 9.

In contrast to Australia’s target of 216 runs, the West Indies were dismissed for just 193 runs in the second innings of the game. When play concluded on the third day at 60 for 2, Australia was already ahead. Steve Smith’s innings of 91 runs did not help Australia to win. Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc tried hard to win Australia but in the end they lost by 8 runs . However, Shamar Joseph returned the favor today by taking 7 wickets for 68 runs in the fourth innings.

West Indies won the Test match after 27 years. West Indies drew 1-1 in the two-match Test series by winning by 8 runs. Shamar Joseph is a player of the match.
