Saudi Arabia won the toss and chose to bowl first against Japan. Saudi Arabia Cricket Team defeated Japan Cricket Team in a tight match in the 1st semifinal. With 66 balls and 10 wickets remaining, Saudi Arabia defeated the opposition, who had set a target of 97 runs.
Both Saudi Arabia Cricket Team and Japan Cricket Team have pace attacks and spinners in their lineups. Their top order batters have also demonstrated outstanding form. Five of the eleven Japanese batsmen in the vital semi-final match scored just single-digit run, indicating a severe lack of confidence on their part.
Saudi Arabia bowlers Ishtiaq Ahmed and Usman Najeeb both took 3 wickets as Saudi Arabia beat Japan by eight wickets.
Apart from Japanese batsman Declan Suzuki’s 26 runs, Alexander Patmore’s 19 runs, Sabaorish Ravichandran’s 16 runs and skipper Kendel Fleming’s 15 runs took the team to 98 runs for eight wickets in twenty overs.
The Japan Cricket Team could not make a comeback with the bowling, left arm Orthodox bowler Charles Hinze and left arm spinner Piyush Kumbhare while Saudi Arabia were busy chasing the 98-run mark.
Japanese bowler could not make any impact on the opponent’s batsmen.
Saudi Arabia’s batsman Faisal Khan’s innings of 72 runs off 33 balls easily won the match for Saudi Arabia.
He hit ten fours and four sixes. He was declared Man of the Match for his matchless innings.
Another batsman from Saudi Arabia, Abdul Waheed scored 23 runs off 21 balls. This innings includes 3 fours and a six.
As a result, Saudi Arabia won the match easily with 66 balls to spare.
Saudi Arabia has advanced to the ACC Mens T20I Challengers Cup 2024 final after winning the semi-final.
