Ravichandran Ashwin’s Unique Record- On the first day of the Ranchi Test against England, Ashwin broke yet another remarkable record.

England skipper Ben Stokes had won the toss and elected to bat first against India in the fourth Test on Friday. India are leading the five-Test series 2-1.
In Ranchi, Akash Deep makes Test Debut for India, replaces Jasprit Bumrah. The only alteration for India was the addition of Akash Deep in place of the rested Bumrah. Akash Deep picked 3 wickets in his first six overs.

Ashwin made history by becoming the first Indian cricket player to reach 1000+ runs and take 100 wickets in a Test match against England at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Friday.
With this achievement, Ashwin joins the ranks of cricket superstars such as George Giffen, Monty Noble, and Garfield Sobers, becoming just the fourth player in history to accomplish this historic double against England.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s unique record against England is highlighted by the fact that he reached this milestone in just 23 Test matches.
Even though doing the double in 23 Tests is a remarkable accomplishment, Ian Botham holds the record for the fastest double against Australia, having done so in just 22 Tests.

Ashwin has taken the most wickets against England among Indians, leaving the likes of Bhagwat Chandrasekhar (95), Anil Kumble (92), Bishan Singh Bedi (85) and Kapil Dev (85).
Ashwin is only the second bowler to take 100 or more Test wickets in an India vs England match. First up is James Anderson. He currently has 145 wickets against India.

In Ranchi, Ravichandran Ashwin set a record. 500th wicket was taken by him in the previous Test match. This time, against England, Ashwin set a record by getting 100 wickets in a Test match. Against England, he became the first Indian to amass 100 Test wickets.
Ashwin took the wicket of Jonny Bairstow in the fourth Test. Jonny Bairstow is declared lbw. As soon as he took that wicket, Ashwin set a record.
