If Kane Williamson and Tim Southee both play Test matches during home series against Australia for New Zealand, they will become the sixth player to play 100th Test matches as a New Zealand team. Sri Lanka and New Zealand will become the 6th position nation to play 100th Test matches jointly.

Meanwhile England captain Ben Stokes is playing his 100th Test match in Rajkot against India. So England is ahead in the list of cricketers who have played 100 and more Tests. A total of 16 English cricketers have played 100 and more Test matches.

Among the countries playing Test cricket, New Zealand is the last in terms of the list of cricketers who have played 100 or more Tests. Because only 4 Kiwi cricketers have played 100+ Test matches so far.
Four New Zealand cricketers have played 100th Test matches so far. Stephen Fleming, Daniel Vettori, Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor will follow in the footsteps of Kane Williamson and Tim Southee to achieve the feat. Both of them will be ranked eighth in the list.

They participated in the U-19 World Cup 2007/08 as well. As of right now, Williamson leads all New Zealanders in Test cricket run scoring. The second-highest wicket-taker is Southee. The pair faced Zimbabwe in their 50th Test match together in 2016. Tim Southee has one more milestone in front of him. After David Warner, Virat Kohli, and Ross Taylor, Southee will be the fourth cricket player to play 100 international matches in all three formats of the game. Kane Williamson needs to play 11 more Twenty20 matches for his country to accomplish this milestone.

Two years after Tim Southee, Kane Williamson made his debut in international cricket. On the other hand, two cricket players from New Zealand can reach a milestone simultaneously. On March 8, if all goes according to plan, Williamson and Southee will play their 100th Tests together during home series against Australia in significant milestone. In world cricket, a new precedent will be set.

So far both have played 98 Test matches. The New Zealand-Australia series will start from February 21. The two teams will play the first three T20 matches. Test series will start from February 29. First Test in Wellington. Second Test from March 8 in Christchurch. If all goes well, the New Zealand-Australia second Test will be Williamson and Southee’s 100th Tests. New Zealand’s current and former captain will get a chance to touch the milestone together at home.

In all, 76 cricketers have achieved the feat of playing 100th Tests so far.
