Like the first T20 match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl in the second T20 match. And India sent Afghanistan to bat.
The second T20 match saw some changes in the Indian team. Yashasvi Jaiswal came to open with Rohit Sharma instead of Shubman Gill. Virat Kohli replaced Tilak Varma in the 2nd T20 against India and Afghanistan after a long time after playing in the semi-finals of the 2022 World T20.
Rohit Sharma made the XI against Afghanistan with five batsmen, a pace all-rounder, two spin all-rounders, a spinner and two pace bowlers. Captain knew that its ground is pace and spin friendly pitch.
Afghanistan batsmen came down to bat and scored 172 runs losing all wickets .
Afghanistan’s batsmen did not get more runs from the bat in the second match as in the first match.
A brilliant half-century of 57 runs by the Afghanistan batsman took Afghanistan to 172 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz(14) and Afghanistani Captain Ibrahim Zardan (8)have not yet been successful with the bat. Mohammad Nabi scored 42 runs with the bat in the first match but was dismissed for 14 runs in the second match. Karim Janat and Mujeeb ur Rahaman boosted the run rate by playing fewer balls.
First, Karim Janat got out after playing a devastating innings of 20 runs off 10 balls. Following in the footsteps of Karim Janat ,Mujeeb ur Rahaman delivered a devastating innings of 21 off 9 balls.
The Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh took the Afghanistani batters by surprise with his exceptional delivery. Arshdeep Singh grabbed 3 wickets with 32runs. Axar patel took 2 wickets at a cost of 17 runs. And the man of the match crown of the second match went to Axar Patel ‘s head. While Ravi Bishnoi claimed 2 wickets with 39 runs and Shivam Dube received 1 wicket off 36 runs.
Afghanistan scored 172 runs for the loss of ten wickets.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who replaced Rohit Sharma in place of Subhman Gill, was in devastating mood from the start, hitting six sixes and four fours. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 68 runs off 38 balls. Rohit Sharma was successful as a captain but failed with the bat. Again Rohit Sharma was dismissed without any runs. After a long spell in T20, Virat Kohli scored 29 runs off 16 balls and was dismissed by Naveen Ul Haq.
Shivam Dube scored his third half-century in the second T20 off 32 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours and Shivam Dube scored 62 runs. Jitesh Sharma scored 31 runs in the previous match but failed with the bat in this match. Rinku Singh is doing the job of finisher perfectly .As he scored nine runs off nine balls.
Karim Janat took 2 wickets off 13 runs and Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen ul Haq received 1 wicket.
India won the match by six wickets with 26 balls to spare to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
